An Easter vacation spent in the mountains is something the world dreams about and an Easter vacation spent in the Park City mountains in our I Love Park City holiday hideaways has always been your dream, one that is about to come true. Easter falls later this year, on April 20th, and end of ski season is tentatively scheduled for April 16, so combining Easter and all the festivities This guide to planning your 2025 Easter in Park City will show you all the things you have to look forward to, brightening your days in the weeks that lead up to your vacation of a lifetime.
Pack for Winter
The calendar may say its spring and warmer days may have already taken over your hometown but in Park City Old Man Winter is reluctant to leave, and so your suitcase should be packed full of the heavier pieces of your winter clothing. If you are planning on spending the remaining days on the slopes, you will also want to make sure you bring a good pair of sunglasses or ski goggles, because that sun will be bright and is even brighter when reflecting off the pristine white of the snow below you. What you won’t need to pack, even if you are traveling with your kids, is an Easter basket. We speak from experience when we tell you that baskets of any sort do not travel well unless you carry them like a purse, and since we know you aren’t ready for them to know about your alter ego, the Easter Bunny, leave the basket at home and pick up one from one of the stores here in Park City.
Farewell to Ski Season Festivities
The week leading up to Easter is a busy one due to the end of ski season and there will be concerts, food, and on April 12, something we call Pond Skim. 100 skiers glide down the slope at the Eagle Race Arena, trying to pick up enough speed to skim across the frosty pond that lies at its base and spoiler alert. Most do not make it and will end up sinking into the icy waters and although it is a major catastrophe for the skimmer, for those watching it is the highlight of the show. Not that we are taking pleasure in someone’s loss, but it is quite amusing to see and the skiers/skimmers understand the joy we take in their failures.
Plan on a Mountain Sunrise
Sunrise services are a popular tradition, but this will be the year you feel the impact of a mountain sunrise, perhaps sitting on the balcony of your I Love Park City holiday retreat, wrapped in blankets and a winter coat. The dark of night slowly lightens and the twinkling stars turn off one by one until the sky begins to cycle through a kaleidoscope of colors, each destined to take your breath away. These quiet moments will be ones you remember long after returning to real life, and because your luxurious bedroom, possibly one with its own fireplace for extra warmth, is just steps away, you can crawl back between the covers and fall back to sleep at least for an hour or two.
Easter Egg Hunt at Montage Deer Valley
Now that the slopes have closed, it is time to turn our attention back to Easter and the Easter Egg Hunt at Montage Deer Valley is actually held on the holiday. Keeping the magic of Easter alive, the egg hunt is divided into age groups so as to be fair to the tiniest celebrants and the Easter Bunny himself will be making an appearance, talking to the children and offer photo opportunities that will thrill them all. Additionally, inside at the Apex restaurant a special Easter buffet provides all your favorite holiday dishes, ensuring that no one will go home hungry and mom (or dad) who normally does all the holiday cooking will get the break that is so richly deserved!
