During the summer months, Park City offers some of the best hiking and biking opportunities. After the snow melts, you’ll find yourself surrounded by plenty of choices for mountain and hiking trails in Park City. All three resorts offer lift-served hiking, and there are many other great trails to be discovered.
There are hundreds of miles of public trails where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and the fresh air. So strap on those hiking boots, grab some snacks and plenty of water, and go out and enjoy the many available trails.
Rail Trail (Easy)
This is a great beginner trail for beginners or anyone who is looking for a long workout. There are trailheads located off Wyatt Earp Way or off of Bonanza Drive and the round trip trail is 26 miles in length.
Road Valley (Easy)
Following a six-mil route up and down to Old Ranch Road, this is a great trail for beginner and intermediate hikers and bikers. You can access this trail from the trailhead located near the National Ability Center.
Deer Valley Resort (Difficult)
Deer Valley Resort offers trails for everyone with its lift-served hiking and biking. There are plenty of options for any level. Pick up a detailed trail map at Deer Valley’s bike shop.
Tour de Homes (Difficult)
If you want to hike by the many beautiful homes of Deer Valley, this 5.8 mile loop is for you. You’ll enjoy a well-marked trail that starts at Snow Park Lodge.
Promontory Trail (Most Difficult)
There are actually three different trails ranging from beginner to advanced. Beginning to intermediate hikers will enjoy the Three Mile Canyon Trail, while the South Canyon Trail is perfect for intermediates. More serious advanced hikers will love the eight-mile Princess Di Trail that is a long, isolated and technical trail.
Mid-Mountain Trail (Most Difficult)
This trail travels more than 20 miles through deep canyons, creeks and through groves of poplar and aspens. There are various access points, including one at Silver Lake Lodge, points throughout Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort.
