Miner’s Day Celebration, September 1, Various Locations

Now, Labor Day is a holiday that we normally celebrate by doing absolutely nothing, but the first Monday in September has long been the day we celebrate our heritage with our annual Miner’s Day event. Since 1884, this fun event has offered exciting activities, starting with a miner’s breakfast served in City Park from 7:30 to 9:30 and costing absolutely nothing.

(Although a $5 donation is suggested, with the proceeds benefitting the hosts of the breakfast, St. Mary’s Catholic Church) Also offering a Miner’s Day BARK City 5K Run, the Running of the Balls, a parade, live music, food trucks & a beer/liquor garden, kid’s games; the list of activities you can participate in is a long one and you will be tired after, so you may want to extend your getaway at least one more day, taking the time to stay home and explore all your holiday hideaway has to offer.

Park City Point 2 Point, August 30

This endurance mountain bike race never fails to intrigue us; not enough to sign up for it, of course, the Labor Day weekend is supposed to be about leisure and fun, not hard work and exercise! But if you are interested in showing off your mad bike skills, this race takes place over some of Park City’s most difficult and fun trails, giving participants something to brag about when they return to work on Tuesday, assuming they can still walk! As there is a cap on how many can participate, 375 max, wanna-be racers who are interested now will be added to the waitlist. Don’t give up hope, though; there is plenty of time left between now and Labor Day weekend, and if past years have shown us anything, it is that anything can happen!

Canyons Golf, 3636 Willow Draw Road

Park City is not a year-round golf destination, but the courses are still open this last official weekend of summer, and if you are an enthusiast, Canyons Golf may provide an ideal way to soak in the sunshine. Carved out of the mountain landscape and offering 18 holes, the course was designed by architects Gene and Casey Bates, and the dramatic views may provide a detriment to your game, simply because you can’t keep your eyes off the scenery and on your ball! Beverage carts will offer your favorite drinks, and although you can’t smoke cigarettes on the course, no one will judge you if your game is smoking hot!

No Name Saloon, 447 Main Street

The nights can be as exciting as the daytime hours, especially when you choose to visit the No Name Saloon for a night of fun and food, including their world-famous bison burgers. For 25 years, No Name has occupied the 1905 brick building on Main Street, also offering a peek into the past as guests enjoy a menu that is both modern and traditional. Their cocktail menu is befitting of an old miner’s town, offering drinks such as the Alpine Toddy, No Name Bloody, and one of our favorites, Something about Rosemary, but even if you choose a cold beer or a smooth wine, you are sure to have a good time celebrating Labor Day in Park City at the No Name Saloon!

Ride the Chairlifts in the Summer

If you have only visited in the winter months, you may imagine that once the season ends, we shut down the lift and give them a rest until the snow begins to fall again, but that would truly be a waste. In the fall months, the lifts provide up close and personal views of the trees dressed in their finest autumn attire. And in the summer? Flying above the trees, enjoying the lush verdancy of the landscape and views that that go on and on for miles is a summer experience that even we locals who see the same views every day of our life can’t wait to experience at least once during the warmer months. We can assure you that the pictures you will take as you ride up the mountain will be ones you will print, frame, and hang proudly in your home and office, letting everyone see the beauty you experienced firsthand.

Possibly See a Ghost with Park City Ghost Tours, 415 Main Street

The veil between the spirit world and the living seems to be thinner than ever these days, and if you aren’t scared of things that go bump in the night, Park City Ghost Tours is an adventure you may not have known you could do. The guides who work for this fabulous tour company take visitors on a 75-minute walking tour of historic Park City, sharing their vast knowledge of the history of our town as well as telling the stories of the spirits who haunt many of our businesses. Guests are encouraged to take pictures during the walk, and those that do often quite often see an unpaid “guest” appear in their pictures, guests that couldn’t be seen by the naked eye. The Park City Ghost Tours website offers a gallery of some of the best spooky pics taken by their guests, in case you were wondering what might appear in your own!

Bobsled on an Olympic Bobsled Track at Utah Olympic Park, 3419 Olympic Parkway

It isn’t that much of a secret that parts of the 2002 Winter Olympics were held right here in Park City, and you may even know that Olympic athletes are still trained at Utah Olympic Park, but you may not have known that the Summer Bobsled Experience will give you the opportunity to fly down the very tracks used in those Olympics. Using bobsleds that are modified to ride on concrete instead of blades that slide over the ice in the winter, a professional guide takes up to three passengers on the most thrilling ride of their lives, reaching speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. Costing $100 per rider, this experience isn’t for everyone, and guests must be at least 13 years old and weigh 100 pounds or more, and pregnant women and people in poor health cannot ride.

Make Your Own Gin at Alpine Distilling, 7132 Silver Creek Road

Park City offers a few distilleries that have become quite well-known over the years, and each distillery offers tastings and the opportunity to buy the alcohol made there, but only one distillery, Alpine Distilling, offers a Gin Making Experience. Up to eight guests can join in on this adventure, with each guest taking about 2.5 hours to learn the process and to decide on the botanical blend that will be in the bottle they create. The next 2.5 hours will be handled by staff as they distill the custom blends, and guests can choose to stay and watch the entire process or head out for dinner, coming back before 10 PM to pick up their bottle that has been sealed and labeled, completing an experience that not many people outside the gin business have been able to participate in.

Feeling Comfortable and at Home with I Love Park City

The one thing you may not know you are able to do until you are actually experiencing it is feeling comfortable and at home in our Utah retreats. We put a lot of thought and effort into creating spaces that welcome, and when you walk inside for the first time, you will instantly feel the I Love Park City difference. Your 4th of July in Park City will offer a full day of fun and exciting activities, and although we aren’t seeing any information regarding a fireworks show, there is a listing of a drone show, which may be even better. We are noticing a trend that goes away from fireworks, especially in areas with drier climates, but modern technology and the invention of the drone will ensure you won’t miss a single boom. Your Independence Day in Park City will start with a parade and a flyover performed by the 419th Fighter Wing based out of Hill Air Force Base. Also featuring food trucks, rugby, kid’s games, and live music at City Park. Forums Fest at Canyons Village is a three-day event (July 3-5) that offers live music, drone shows—and wait a minute, yes, there it is. Fireworks will be offered at Forums Fest, so whew, your traditional Park City 4th of July will be complete!

Park City Provides the Best of Times

Park City always has the best adventures, but on day two of your Utah explorations, you may want to venture out into the surrounding town of Oakley, located just 17 miles north of us and offering the world class Oakley Rodeo. The rodeo runs from July 2 through July 5th, offering bull riding, bronco busting, a drone show, oh, and wait, fireworks every night of the show. If you want to stay in town for July 5th it is a beautiful day to take a hike along the Armstrong Trail, or to spend the day exploring all that our mountain town has to offer, including shops, boutiques and some world class restaurants. And when the sun sets on another wonderful day in Park City, a visit to the iconic Riverhorse on Main is sure to remind you that you deserve the finer things in life, finer things that can be found right here in Park City, Utah. The No Name Saloon, also on Main Street, offers another iconic Park City experience, famous for its buffalo burgers and celebrating 25 years in business in 2025.

How Can It Be Sunday Already?

We told you this was going to be a fun-filled weekend, but we may have forgotten to mention that it would go by in a blink of an eye. In any case, by the time July 6th rolls around, the celebrations will all have concluded, and that gives you some free time to explore more of what makes this mountain town so special. Maybe this is the day you will sign up for a guided fly fishing trip with Park City Fly Fishing Company, taking up a sport that will become your greatest obsession. Packing for Adventure

If you’re like us, packing is almost your least favorite part of travel (unpacking being the absolute least favorite part), but with this cheat sheet you won’t waste space, leaving room for your shopping treasures. First things first, it may be summer, but nights will be chilly if not cold, so dressing in layers is the best way, and you must be sure to remember to pack some sweaters as well. Extra socks, comfy hiking boots, and a swimsuit or two for your hot tub adventures in our escapes that offer that amenity are useful as are sunscreen, sunglasses, and sun hats. A nice outfit for a night on the town will totally come in handy as our nightlife can be as exciting as the outdoor adventures you will enjoy during your time in Park City.

There is a lot to do in the summer in Park City, and much of it will be outdoor adventures. The stunning beauty of our mountain town’s landscape will entice you to want to be outside as much as possible. Hike along many of the same trails you might have skied on during a winter visit; the canopy of the trees will keep you cool and the lush and verdant foliage will make you feel happy to be alive. If you are planning on spending the remaining days on the slopes, you will also want to make sure you bring a good pair of sunglasses or ski goggles, because that sun will be bright and is even brighter when reflecting off the pristine white of the snow below you. What you won’t need to pack, even if you are traveling with your kids, is an Easter basket. We speak from experience when we tell you that baskets of any sort do not travel well unless you carry them like a purse, and since we know you aren’t ready for them to know about your alter ego, the Easter Bunny, leave the basket at home and pick up one from one of the stores here in Park City.

Farewell to Ski Season Festivities

The week leading up to Easter is a busy one due to the end of ski season and there will be concerts, food, and on April 12, something we call Pond Skim. 100 skiers glide down the slope at the Eagle Race Arena, trying to pick up enough speed to skim across the frosty pond that lies at its base and spoiler alert. Most do not make it and will end up sinking into the icy waters and although it is a major catastrophe for the skimmer, for those watching it is the highlight of the show. Not that we are taking pleasure in someone’s loss, but it is quite amusing to see and the skiers/skimmers understand the joy we take in their failures.

Plan on a Mountain Sunrise

Sunrise services are a popular tradition, but this will be the year you feel the impact of a mountain sunrise, perhaps sitting on the balcony of your I Love Park City holiday retreat, wrapped in blankets and a winter coat. The dark of night slowly lightens and the twinkling stars turn off one by one until the sky begins to cycle through a kaleidoscope of colors, each destined to take your breath away. These quiet moments will be ones you remember long after returning to real life, and because your luxurious bedroom, possibly one with its own fireplace for extra warmth, is just steps away, you can crawl back between the covers and fall back to sleep at least for an hour or two.

Easter Egg Hunt at Montage Deer Valley

Now that the slopes have closed, it is time to turn our attention back to Easter and the Easter Egg Hunt at Montage Deer Valley is actually held on the holiday. Keeping the magic of Easter alive, the egg hunt is divided into age groups so as to be fair to the tiniest celebrants and the Easter Bunny himself will be making an appearance, talking to the children and offer photo opportunities that will thrill them all. Additionally, inside at the Apex restaurant a special Easter buffet provides all your favorite holiday dishes, ensuring that no one will go home hungry and mom (or dad) who normally does all the holiday cooking will get the break that is so richly deserved!

Living Your Best Life at Easter

Our homes and condos are designed to be an integral part of your vacation experience and if you are reluctant to give up your holiday traditions, they can be where you celebrate in all the ways that make Easter in Park City special for you. Boil the eggs you will decorate and hide in our fully equipped kitchens or if you forgo the brunch at Apex, you can make your own Easter feast at home with us. Watching your favorite Easter movies on state of the art televisions, hiding eggs in and around your holiday hideaway, and just being able to chill with the family in ways you aren’t often able to do while at home. These are the moments you will never forget, creating an Easter you will remember forever. Reserve your favorite Easter escape today!

Gondola Art Stroll, November 24 through April 20, Canyons Village

This fun walk amongst the gondolas is a daily recurring event, featuring six gondolas that have been turned into art installations created by the most creative people we have ever met. The gondolas are ones that have been retired from service, but we think they find their new purpose in life absolutely acceptable, as they will be making Canyon Village an even more beautiful spot to explore. Placed in a variety of locations throughout the village, each gondola will feature a different winter scene that includes hidden items for you to find. The map of gondolas can be found here.

2025 Park City Spring Wine Festival, April 3-5, Pendry Park City, 2417 W High Mountain Road

When you think your spring visit to Park City can’t get any better, the 2025 Park City Spring Wine Festival decides to make an appearance and we don’t think you will mind being wrong! Offering a long weekend of wine, music, food, and fun, over 100 wineries will be represented at this sip-sational event, coming in from all over the world to let you sample their grapes. Wine pairing lunches and dinners will make your taste buds stand up and cheer and paired wine hikes, lifestyle events, and seminars will increase your wine knowledge while making your wine loving heart smile broadly. No children or pets are allowed at the festival, but live music and delicious wine will make you ok with it. Tickets can be purchased on the wine festival website, and if you can’t make it to Park City for this event, you will have a second opportunity in the fall as the 2025 Park City Fall Wine Festival is scheduled for October 2-4.

2025 Canyons Village Spring Concert Series, April 5 & April 12, Canyons Village Forum Stage

Even as the nights may be frosty and cold, the afternoons can be absolutely idyllic, and the 2025 Canyons Village Spring Concert Series offers another excellent way to get outside and enjoy all that fresh air. They aren’t telling us who will be performing, preferring to let us all be delightfully surprised, but we can promise you will dance in your seats and sing along to the music performed by the most talented musicians in the state. The concerts start at 3:00 and end at 5:00, so if you are skiing, you might want to cut your day short for at least one of these days.

Pond Skim, April 12, Eagle Race Arena

As it grows closer to the end of ski season, there is one last hurrah to be experienced, otherwise known as the Pond Skim event. Featuring 100 skimmers skiing down the mountain as fast as they can, hoping they can skim across the slushy pond at the base of the slope. Failure can mean an icy splashdown and although the skiers aren’t too thrilled at the dunking, bystanders cheer all that much loudly when they sink! Although this event is open to anyone over the age of 18, there are only 150 slots, and as of this writing, they have all been filled, and we are sorry to disappoint you if your dream was to pond skim, but trust us, watching is much more fun!

Last Friday Gallery Stroll, April 25, Historic Main Street

The slopes will be quiet, the lifts will have stopped their circuit, and ski season will be officially over, but April does offer one last event that shouldn’t be missed. The monthly last Friday Gallery Stroll will satisfy your need to shop for souvenirs or gifts, with 19 galleries staying open, offering light refreshments and another chance to explore the art of Park City, perhaps finding the perfect piece to hang above your desk at work.

Easter, April 20, I Love Park City Holiday Hideaways

Our properties are designed to be an integral part of your vacation experience, and Easter at home with us may be your favorite part of your Utah adventures. Prepare the Easter feast in our fully equipped kitchens, hide colorful eggs inside or outside, and enjoy your own version of a sunrise service by watching the sun rise over the mountains from a hot tub on the deck of your escape. Here, snow typically lingers at higher elevations into spring as lower elevations thaw out. Many of the top-rated ski resorts in the area don’t shut down for the season until April. That means that if you head to Park City for an early Spring Break trip, there’s no reason you can’t include quality time on the slopes to your itinerary. Feel free to grab your skis and make your way to Park City Mountain Resort or Deer Valley during your Spring Break journey for downhill thrills that are always one-of-a-kind. For a rejuvenating moment, make sure to book a spa session over at the Spa Montage Deer Valley. The Waldorf Astoria Spa in town is equally appealing on this revitalizing front and they’re known for their offerings that include signature massages and hydrotherapy sessions as well. If you’re more in the mood to find your center, work on balance, and enjoy some moments of Zen, adding a yoga session to your Spring Break getaway in Park City is just the ticket. Make your way to the Tadasana Yoga Studio where you can join up with a public class fit to your skill level or book a private session depending on preference.

Dive into History

Park City is a place that’s packed with inspiring history, and Spring Break is a great time to dive right in and learn more. The easiest place to start is the Park City Museum, which is located right on Main Street and offers visitors a chance to browse an extensive collection of exhibits that tell the story of Park City’s transition from mining town to top-rated ski destination on the map. If you prefer to dig into the stories further, taking part in a guided tour of the museum is always highly recommended.

Bloods Lake and Lackawaxen Trail

First, we must mention the lake. What is it about mountain lakes that just hit differently than a lake anywhere else? Perhaps it is the calm waters that stay so still, the trees, the mountains, even shy wildlife standing perfectly still when they catch your scent are perfectly reflected in the glassy surface. We can’t answer why it is so fabulous, you will just know when you know, which is why we are suggesting the Bloods Lake and Lackawaxen Trails for your first foray into the wilds. Both trails lead to the lakes they are named after, with the Bloods Lake trail extending 2.8 miles round trip and offering an elevation gain of 465 feet, but with both, the trail stretches out 4.9 miles. The Lackawaxen Trail picks up where Bloods Lake ends, taking hikers to Lackawaxen Lake. Leashed dogs are allowed on the Bloods Lake Trail, but not the Lackawaxen.

Armstrong

The Armstrong Trail is a moderately challenging one offering a distance of 3.3 miles and an elevation game of 754 feet. Dog friendly (please keep them leashed and clean up after your pets) and good for both hiking and biking, although it is beautiful in every season, if you can make a trip back in the fall, it will impress you even more. For at least half of this hike, you will be ascending, but this isn’t a race, and if you feel the need, stop and relax in the shade of aspen trees or wherever the views are best, which is pretty much anywhere along the trail.

Silver Lake to Bald Mountain

The Silver Lake to Bald Mountain Trail is more challenging than either of the two we mentioned earlier, stretching out 4.7 miles and featuring an elevation gain of over 1400 feet. Dogs are not allowed on this beautiful walk through the countryside, offering a landscape that shines in the summertime when the wildflowers are in bloom. Starting at the bottom of the Silver Lake chairlift and ending at the top of Bald Mountain, the steps in between will take you through aspen groves, wildflowers, and to spots with views so stunning you won’t want the hike to end.

Clayton Peak Via Blood Lakes Trail

This next trail is for hikers with serious skills, lasting 5.3 miles and featuring an elevation gain of over 1800 feet. Popular in all seasons, although it is best from June through October, snowshoe hikers love this trail, and dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed and owners clean up after their four-legged friends. Panoramic views will make you fall in love and for our lake lovers, the trail does take you past several beautiful ones, ensuring that this hike will be one of your favorites.

Rob’s Trail

Rob’s Trail is the longest of all the ones we have listed so far, lasting 8.8 miles and taking about 4.5 hours to complete, but even with an elevation gain of 1870 feet, it is still popular with hikers, bikers, and runners. Best to explore during the months of June through September, hikers or bikers should expect stunning views, rocky landscape, and plenty of sweet pups hiking with their owners, while remaining on a leash. Wildlife that may be seen as you hike include deer, moose, and maybe a sly fox or two, although rattlesnakes and bears may be seen as well. Spring hikers may also get to see baby wildlife adding an awwww factor to their hiking adventures.
