For many people, winter can never last long enough. They crave the snow, the fragile beauty of ice, and the way their outdoor activities just hit differently when the temperatures fall into the freeze zone, and it is those cold season aficionados that often find their way to enjoy a spring break in Park City. Winter extends into the spring months here in Park City, and as you play on the slopes, explore the restaurants in our foodie paradise, and fall in love with the mountains that surround you, coming home to the warmth and comforts offered in our I Love Park City seasonal sanctuaries will make you wish you could truly live in winter forever!
Skiing Is a Dance
Of course, the first thing we are going to mention will be the ski resorts that make up such an important part of our winter experiences. Open until mid-April in 2025, your Spring Break ski trip will extend winter at least another month. We have three ski resorts in Park City, although the third and newest, Mayflower Ski Resort is joining forces with Deer Valley this year, adding to their skiable terrain. Park City Mountain, however, is still the largest of the resorts, and because they accept snowboarders AND skiers (Deer Valley and Mayflower are both ski-only), it may be the one you choose to spend most of your time exploring. After the trails close, be sure and partake in après ski at any of the local hot spots, including the Umbrella Bar in Canyons Village and the Corner Store at Park City Mountain.
Walk in the Footsteps of Olympic Heroes
Utah Olympic Park, located at 3419 Olympic Parkway, is a winter sports park that was built for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Still the spot where future Olympic champions train, there is also a museum that pays homage to winter sports and offers a unique Winter Bobsled Experience that ends in April this year. Another unusual winter activity offered at the park is the Curling Experience, using the same stones that were used in the 2002 Winter Olympics.
The Spirits Await
No, we aren’t talking about the ghosts that may or may not haunt many of Park City’s historic buildings. The spirits we are discussing involve grain, alcohol, and a very excellent time. We know that you aren’t the same party animal you may have been in college; you have a spouse now, kids, even a fur baby you consider family, but the distilleries in the area will offer a wonderful way to reconcile college you with the new responsible version you are still surprised to stare at in the mirror every morning. The High West Saloon, located at 703 Park Avenue, is perhaps the most well known of Park City’s distilleries, especially as their product can be purchased all over the nation. Offering tours, tastings, and a pub grub menu, you may not be the crazy wild child of your youth, but there is still a little part of yourself that can hang with the big boys!
2025 Canyons Village Spring Concert Series, Saturdays in March and April, Canyons Village Forum Stage
Free music, an outdoor stage, and your dancing shoes—can it get any better than this? Taking place on Saturdays in Canyons Village, the show starts at 3 and ends at 5, which coincidentally is also just about the time après ski starts in Park City. Featuring bands, solo artists, and a combination of both, it may still be a little cold, so be sure to wear your warm clothes; you can always peel off items of clothing if all the dancing and singing along you do makes you feel a little warm.
A Taste Tour of Park City
As much fun as you are going to have during your Park City adventures, the ones you remember the most may be the dining experiences you enjoy as you complete a taste tour of the best restaurants in town. As we said earlier, Park City is a foodie town, and whether you are seeking a breakfast at the Eating Establishment (317 Main Street) lunch at the Bridge Café & Grill (825 Main Street) or a fancy dinner at Riverhorse on Main (540 Main Street) you will find your joy in every bite you take.
