Not sure what to do during your summer vacation in Park City? You will never run out of ideas! Check out these top summer activities in Park City.

Hiking in and Around Park City, UT

There is so much to do in Park City during the summer — but one of the best activities for you to burn some calories, spend quality time with your loved ones, and enjoy the fresh air in nature is going on a hike with your friends and family! Hiking can be done any time of the year, but we enjoy going in the summer so you can soak in the bright sunshine and hop into a nice cool waterfall or lake at the end.

There are tons of trails for you to choose from when you stay here. Whether you are going on a hike with younger children or are an avid outdoors person who likes going on full-day excursions, we have something for everyone.

For those who want to do a hike close to the center of town, we recommend starting with the Bloods Lake and Lackawaxen Circuit trail. This out-and-back trail or looped trail is great for those who want a short hike that typically takes around 1-1.5 hours. Start at Bloods Lake Trailhead and rise high above the aspen trees. Then, bring your pup into Lake Lackawaxen at the end of the hike!

For those who want something slightly more challenging, the Silver Lake and Bald Mountain trail is the top option. This out-and-back trail features over 1,400 elevation gain, which is great to get your heart pounding. We recommend starting at the Silver Lake chairlift and soaring high above the Jordanelle Reservoir and Heber Valley.

If you want to go for a morning trail run, the Lofty Lakes Loop offers some of the best views of the wildflowers, lakes, and rolling hills. Make sure you stop at Picturesque Lake to get a few Instagram photos and cool off during your hike.

If you just can’t get enough of the bright blue lakes and pristine views of wildflowers in the distance, then head to the Three Divide Lakes trail from the Crystal Lake Trailhead. You will go over 540 feet through this popular trail.

Lastly, the Armstrong trail is a smart choice for those who want to go either hiking or mountain biking in the summer season! Head to the Three Kings Road starting point and take a break once you reach the top by the King Con lift. The views are amazing!

Walk Around Historic Main Street

Another great thing to do during the bustling summertime here in Park City is to walk around the picturesque and beautiful historic section of town! The Historic Main Street features old buildings, lamp lighting, views of the rolling hills, vintage shops, mouthwatering restaurants, cool cafes, and much more.

We recommend stopping at Riverhorse on Main for contemporary American food and pints of beer, Yuki Yama Sushi for healthy Asian food, or Grappa Italian Cafe for huge portions of pasta and glasses of wine. Another great spot is the Wasatch Brewery for a fresh pint on a hot summer day!

Other interesting shops on Main Street that are must-visits are Sock City Park City, Atticus Coffee, Books & Teahouse, Riverhorse Provisions, Pink Elephant Coffee Roasters, Olive and Tweed, Flight Boutique, and much more!

Listen to an Outdoor Concert

One of the best ways to decompress, de-stress, and spend time with your friends and family — without scaling a mountain! — is to listen to some live music. The good thing is that there are tons of concerts, live music gigs, performances, and entertainment venues for you to check out during your summer in Park City.

One of the most famous among tourists and locals alike is the Deer Valley Concert series, held outdoors in one of the most beautiful areas of the town. This natural and nature-made amphitheater serves as the home for some of the best live musicians you will see this entire summer. Make sure you pre-order a gourmet picnic so you can eat tasty local food and have a few drinks while you watch the sunset in the distance.

Head to Park Silly Sunday

Park Silly Sunday Market is one of the best spots for you to pick up some local produce, fresh fruits and vegetables, tasty meat, and pre-made meals that make it easy for you to cook and prepare food for your guests. There are dozens of local musicians, performers, artists, restaurant owners, and entertainment activities for you and the entire family.

Soar High Above the Sky!

Last but not least, we love going on hot air balloon rides to get a birds-eye view of the beautiful town down below. The hot air balloon rides soar hundreds of meters above Park City and provide the ideal viewpoint for seeing the amazing Wasatch mountains, dusk over the rolling hills, and flora and fauna in Utah.
